Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am Jagadhees Thirumoorthy and I am a Marine Engineer. I am 27 years old. I am a motivational speaker, artist and fitness enthusiast. I visit schools and colleges and inspire youngsters to set goals and achieve them. My parents are of modest means and are loving and compassionate. Throughout my childhood, I had been ridiculed and mocked by peers, neighbours and relatives for my weak physique and timid nature. As I grew up Fitness, public speaking and reading inspirational books became my passion.
I have recently published my first book titled CONQUER YOUR DREAMS : A SAILOR'S DIARY THAT WILL PROPEL YOUR DREAMS TO REALITY
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
CONQUER YOUR DREAMS : A SAILOR'S DIARY THAT WILL PROPEL YOUR DREAMS TO REALITY
An year ago I met with an accident where I flinched myself narrowly from the jaws of death. I realized if I had died on that day so many dreams of mine would have been buried with me. One of them was to write my own book and share my story and messages with the world. That's how the book started.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I have been writing on my journals, almost daily, since I was 13 yrs of age.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, The Secret. Think And Grow Rich, The richest man in Babylon and hundreds of inspiring books.
Jim Rohn, Stephen Covey, Les Brown, Anthony Robbins, Brian Tracy are some of my favorite authors and intellectual mentors
What are you working on now?
I am now writing my second book besides preparing for my next sailing tenure. Next book is a love story.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Follow the discipline of writing daily and commit to writing.
Write your book even if no one publishes it. Write because it is your calling. Believe in your dreams and conquer them no matter what challenges come your way.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
You never know what you are capable of until you give it a try.
