About Nicolas:
Nicolas Pelletier signed a contract to become a master carpenter in 1612. For the next four years he learned his craft, always thinking about the new settlement he had heard about far across the ocean, in a place called New France. For twenty years he would work hard and save before he was finally able to make the journey, along with his wife and two young sons. He arrived at Fort Quebec at a time when when less than one hundred people lived there and having a skilled trade made him an asset to the struggling community. For the next forty years he and his wife Jeanne would live in and help build some of the oldest cities in what is now called Canada. Living first in Quebec, then Sillery and finally moving on to Sorel as each settlement was founded and evolved. They would face difficulties along the way, such as court disputes with the neighboring Indians at the mission their land bordered, and skirmishes with the Iroquois Nation. They were two of the lucky few, who were able to be part of New France, as it grew and began to prosper.

Author Bio:
Growing up I was always encouraged to read and now I enjoy a wide range of books depending on my mood for the day. My favorite genre will always be historical fiction, but I also like to throw in the occasional post-apocalyptic tale, western or modern romance.
After doing years of genealogical research on my family, I found that I had files and files worth of information. The only problem was, it would only make sense to me. I had collected not only birth and death dates but also as much of the history that I could find of my ancestors. Since they were so instrumental in not only the beginning of Detroit but also Montreal, Quebec, and Trois Rivieres, I wanted to find a way to make the information more interesting so our family history will be able to be passed down through the generations. I decided to write up what I thought the life of Etienne Campeau would have been like. Somehow it turned into my first book. Since then I have also released a couple more, all the life stories of some of my more interesting ancestors.
I am a mother of two girls who are now grown and off to college. One is majoring in anthropology and the other in biological sciences. My husband passed away in 2011 and I now find I have a bit of extra time on my hands and enjoy writing. Many more stories will follow since I have over 1200 individuals in my genealogy database. Hope you enjoy them.
